Sr. Anne Marie Coleman, RSM

Coleman, RSM, Sister Anne Marie, formerly Sister Michaelanne, 80, a Sister of Mercy for 62 years, died on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Mount St. Rita Health Centre.  She was the daughter of the late William and Anna (Holloran) Coleman and sister of the late Margaret Bowe and the late William Coleman, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Edward Coleman and by three nieces and three nephews.

Sister Anne Marie’s motto was “Serve the Lord in Love”.  This she did throughout her years of service.  After a short time as a Junior High teacher, her gift of being able to manage finances became her main focus of ministry.  She was the Finance Manager of Mount St. Rita Health Centre for a number of years and also at St. Mary’s High School and St. Mary’s Academy, Bayview.  From 1989 to 2006 she was the Finance Manager of Community VNA Neponset Valley Hospice and the VNA of Southeastern MA in Fall River.

Anne Marie loved her God and often attended Liturgy at Mount St. Mary’s Abbey in Wrentham.  She had many other people and things that she loved: her family, her community, her cozy home on Wrentham Road and her numerous dogs, her loyal friends, such as the deceased Sr. Catherine Felton and Sr. Gert Donnelly. May Anne Marie be at peace as she joins these Sisters and her family members in God’s presence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 23, 2021 at St. John Vianney Church, 3587 Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland, beginning with a Mercy Prayer Service at 10:15 a.m.  Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Sister’s memory to the Sisters of Mercy, 15 Highland View Road, Cumberland, RI 02864  www.sistersofmercy.org/northeast would be appreciated.  Information and condolences, please visit: www.galloglyfuneralhome.com
