DION, Sr., Paul L., “Butch”, 86, of Leuba Road, Coventry, passed away unexpectedly Monday afternoon, August 10, 2020 at home.
Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Albert and Ethel (Nelson) Dion. He was a resident of Coventry for most of his life.
Mr. Dion was an aircraft tower at Quonset Point Naval Air Station for many years until retiring and was a Korean War Air Force Veteran. A talented musician he enjoyed playing the drums, listening to jazz and golfing but most of all, loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by a daughter, Susanne J. Tomasso and her husband John of West Warwick; three sons, Paul L. Dion, Jr. of West Warwick, Michael E. Dion and his wife Maryann of Coventry and John J. Dion and his wife Deborah of Warwick; three brothers, Emile Dion of West Greenwich, Marcel Dion of Warwick and Donald Dion of Exeter; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Joseph A. Dion; former husband of the late Dorothy V. (Fields) and brother of the late, Carmel Miller, Nola Greco, Albert, Adrien, Justin, Jules, Anatole, Louie and Charlotte Dion.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, his funeral service and interment with military honors in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
