Kathe Hewes Obituary

HEWES, Kathe L. (DeCiantis), 77, of Stonington, CT, passed away Wednesday morning, January 5, 2022 at Apple Rehab in Mystic, CT. after an extended illness.

Born in Providence, RI at Lying-In Hospital in 1944, a daughter of the late A. Frank and Catherine (Diachun) DeCiantis.

A graduate of Goddard College and respected character in her community, Kathe’s trade was cooking in the local restaurant industry for many years, including: Harbor View, Noahs, JTK; most recently as the pastry chef at Water St Café.

She is survived by two brothers, John DeCiantis of Yucatan, Mexico and Frank DeCiantis of Powhatan, VA; grandchildren Stephanie Spence, Derek, Nicholas and Matthew Silva and fifteen nieces and nephews who received and cherished the love she gracefully shared. She was pre-deceased by daughter Alicia M. Silva.
