Josephine R. (Rogers) Hopkins

HOPKINS, Josephine R., (Rogers), 90, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of James R. Hopkins, they had been married for seventy years.  A lifelong resident of West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Fernandes) Rogers. 

Mrs. Hopkins was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony Church in West Warwick where she sang in the choir.  She was a former member of the Pawtuxet Valley Community Chorus.

Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Curtis J. Hopkins and his wife Ellen of Newtown, CT and Brian J. Hopkins and his wife Beverly of West Warwick; five grandchildren, Allyson Story, Andrew Hopkins, Adam Hopkins, Briana Hopkins and Kelsey Faria; ten great-grandchildren and two sisters, Irene Hopkins of West Warwick, and Evelyn Cook of Little Rock, AZ.  She was the sister of the late Tony Rogers, Alice Furtado, Mary Picard, Rose Vieira, Joseph Rogers, Helen Caires, Del Luz, Raymond Rogers and Theresa Holstein. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 11:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick (All COVID-19 State regulations will be observed).  Interment will be private.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hope Health Hospice and Palliative Care RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904, West Warwick Assistance Agency, 1293 Main St., West Warwick, RI 02893, or St. Anthony Church, 10 Sunset Ave. West Warwick, RI 02893, in her memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolences please visit:  www.PrataGallogly.com
