Jose Andrade

Jose Andrade, 87, of Hope, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at Miriam Hospital, Providence.

He was the beloved wife of Amelia Estrela.  Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, a son of the late Agostinho R. Andrade and Maria Alexandrinha.

Jose was a fisherman in Sao Miguel for many years until retiring.  He loved spending time with his family, playing dominoes and watching his favorite soccer team, Benfica.

Besides his wife he leaves his seven children, Maria Estrela and her husband Antonio, Maria Terceiva and her husband Manuel, Humberta Medeiros and her husband Crisanto, Jose Andrade, Victor Andrade and his wife Maria, Cinira Correia and her husband Michael and Carla Moniz and her husband Valter; three siblings, Agostinho Andrade, Leduina Terceira and Idalina; fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  He was the brother of the late Maria, Albertina, Manuel and Antonio.

His funeral will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.  Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick. Visiting hours Friday 5:00-7:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Anthony Church, 10 Sunset Avenue, West Warwick, RI 02893 in his memory would be appreciated.
