Jane L. (DuVally) Battison, R.N.

BATTISON, R.N., Jane L. (DuVally), 92, of Warwick, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at home.

She was the beloved wife of the late William M. “Bill” Battison, at his passing, they had been married for 68 years.  Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Anna E. (Earley) DuVally.  She resided in Providence until moving to Warwick in 2010.

Mrs. Battison was a Registered Nurse at Rhode Island Hospital for many years until retiring.  She was a lifelong communicant of St. Michael’s Church, where she was a member of the choir.  While in Providence, she was a board member of the Washington Park Community Organization and helped bring about many improvements to the community.  She loved spending time at her beach house in South Kingstown with her family and friends, also enjoyed gardening and bird watching.

She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Stephenson of Cranston and Beth Gwillim of East Providence; two sons, Andrew Battison of Bristol and William Battison of Warwick; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.  She was the mother of the late John T. Battison, PFD (Ret.) and sister of the late Mary I. DuVally, Dr. John C. DuVally, Francis F. DuVally and Anne E. Meinhold.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 9:15-10:15 am in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Michael Church, Oxford St., Providence.  Interment will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow St., Providence, RI 02903 or St. Michael Church, 239 Oxford St., Providence, RI 02905 in her memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolences, please visit: PrataGallogly.com
