James T. Sousa

Sousa, James T., 96, of Highview Drive, West Warwick, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Fatima Hospital. North Providence.

He was the beloved husband of Madeline V. (Cambra) Sousa, they had been married for sixty seven years.  Born in Bristol, a son of the late Verginio and Margaret (Mederios) Sousa.  He has been a resident of West Warwick since 1963.

Mr. Sousa was a batch maker at Ciba Geigy Chemical Company for twenty five years before retiring in 1984.  He loved spending time with his family and maintaining his property, and was an avid history buff, particularly World War II.  He was a big Patriots Fans and also made sure he didn't miss watching a football game.

Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Lynn A. Greaves and her husband James of West Warwick; three grandchildren, Lyndsey Greaves and her fiancé Jeffry Muthersbaugh, Bethany Greaves and her companion Kyle Northup and Corey Greaves and his companion Jessica Thurman and two sisters, Helen Tudino of Smithfield and Agnes Costa of Bristol and several nieces and nephews.  He was the father of the late Laurie Jane Sousa and brother of the late Dennis, Frank and Joseph Sousa.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 11:00 am in St. Mary Church, Church Street, West Warwick.  Interment will be private due to the pandemic.  Visiting hours will be held Monday, November 9, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick (all COVID-19 guidelines will be observed).  Information and condolences please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
