Frank Parente, Battalion Chief WWFD (Ret.)
age 93, of West Warwick, passed away on March 24, 2023.
He was born on August 1, 1929 to Cosimo and Dora (Peretti) Parente. Growing up, Frank worked in his father’s market, Parente’s Market, in Natick.
Frank served 42 years on the West Warwick Fire Department and retired as Battalion Chief in. He was also a Korean War Army Veteran.
In 1992, Frank retired and spent his time traveling, spending time at his home in New Hampshire, visiting firefighters, and volunteering at the Senior Center.
Frank was the loving husband of G. Beverly (DiMasi) Parente, they were married for 68 years. Frank and Beverly went on to have two children, retired WWFD Bat. Chief Frank Parente, Jr. (Renee) and Cheryl Pastore (David, retired WWFD Bat. Chief).
Frank was a dedicated man whether it be to his job, to his family, or to what he believed in. He loved helping others, baseball, especially the New York Yankees and animals. He most recently enjoyed going to visit his granddaughter Alicia’s horse, Ranger.
Frank was predeceased by his siblings, Jennie Pera, Lena Siniscalchi, Anthony and William Parente. He is survived by his sisters, Rosalie Petrarca, Angela Gonsalves (Kenneth), and Patricia Paolucci (James); grandchildren, WWFD Lt. Rocco Pastore (Halley), Alicia Pastore, and Katelyn Parente (fiancé Andy), and great grandchildren, Patrick and Joel Pastore. He also had many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by interment with military honors in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Coventry. Visiting hours Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick.
