William S. Parente

PARENTE, William S., 83, of West Warwick, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 27, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence.

He was the beloved husband of Nancy A. (Dinsdale) Parente, they had been married for 53 years.  A lifelong resident of West Warwick, he was the son of the late Cosimo and Dora (Peretti) Parente.

Mr. Parente was a the proprietor of the family owned Parente’s Market on Providence Street in West Warwick for many years until retiring.

Besides his wife he leaves a son, David W. Parente of West Warwick; a daughter, Maria E. Crowley and her husband Shawn of Cranston; three grandchildren, David Parente, Jr., Joseph Cataldi and Lexi Parente; three great grandchildren, Ansley, Marcello and McKenzie and four siblings, Frank Parente, Sr., Battalion Chief WWFD (Ret.), Rosalie Petrarca and Angela Gonsalves all of West Warwick and Patricia Paolucci of East Greenwich.  He was the brother of the late Jennie Pera, Lena Siniscalchi and Anthony Parente.

His funeral will be held Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence St., West Warwick.  Interment will be in All Saint’s Cemetery, Warwick.  Visiting hours Wednesday 4:00-7:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers contributions to HopeHealth & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 in his memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolences please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
