William T. Benoit

BENOIT, William T., Jr., 65, of Hopkinton, passed away on January 26, 2018 at his home.

He was the beloved husband of the late Robin I. (LaRoche) Benoit who passed away two weeks prior to his passing, they were married for 46 years.  Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late Sarah J. “Sally” (Card) Hunt and the late William T. Benoit Sr.  He was a stepson of the late Elaine (Deshler) Benoit and the late Joseph Hunt, Sr.  

He leaves behind his son, Kane William Benoit of Providence. He was a half-brother to Thomas Benoit, Michael Benoit, Dayla (Benoit) Bates, Joseph Hunt Jr., Steven Hunt, Gary Hunt, Keith Hunt, Glenn Hunt and Robin (Hunt) Winemiller.  He was a brother of the late Clifford Benoit and the late Cheryl (Benoit) Lambert.

Bill was best known for playing the guitar and enjoying music.  He was an avid auto mechanic, loved to fix cars and trucks and make them shine.  He loved growing up on the “Beacon” out on East Greenwich Bay with “Captain Bill” his dad.  He found great pride in becoming a Mason and it brought him peace.  He belonged to Charity Lodge until his illness.  Bill will be missed by all.  

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 pm in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a funeral home service at 4:00 pm.  A Masonic Service will be at 3:30 pm.
