AMRYAN, Jr., Walter P., 78, of Twin Lakes Avenue, Coventry, passed away Friday morning, September 28, 2018 at Scalabrini Villa, North Kingstown.
He was the beloved husband of Audrey A. (Reynolds) Amryan, they had been married for 34 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Walter P. Amryan, Sr. and Rose Marie (Manzello) Amryan. He resided in South Kingstown before moving to Coventry in 2008.
Mr. Amryan was a tractor trailer driver with Leviton Mfg. for 27 years before retiring in 1985. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1956-1960 and an active member of the Lodge of Elks. He served as past Exalted Ruler of the South Kingstown Elks Lodge #1899. From 2003-2004 he was elected past president of the RI State Elks Association, he was the past Deputy of District West and currently a member of the Coventry/West Greenwich Elks Lodge #2285. His enjoyments included, fishing, camping and carpentry.
Besides his wife he leaves three children, Walter P. Amryan, III in Los Angeles, CA, Janice Hudson in Nevada and Anthony Amryan in Arizona; a sister, Rosalie Amryan of Warwick and two nieces, Kathy Willis (Howie) and Nettie Rose Cooley (Bruce).
His funeral will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 9:00 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in SS. John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Interment will follow with military honors in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Tuesday 4:00-7:00 pm with an Elks Ritual to be performed at 6:30 pm.
