Maria E. (Serpa) Melo

MELO, Maria E. (Serpa), 88, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Riverview Health Care Community.

She was the wife of the late Arthur Melo.  Born in Pico, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Henrico and Mariana (Serpa) Serpa.  She resided in Coventry for many years.

Mrs. Melo was an assembler at Victor Electric for twenty years before retiring in 1995.  She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church and enjoyed knitting.

She is survived by a son, Manuel D. Prudencio and his wife Maria of Coventry; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  She was the mother of the late Maria Dolores Serpa and sister of the late Manuel and Anebel Serpa.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 9:00 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street. West Warwick.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.  Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick.  Visiting hours Tuesday 5:00-7:00 pm.  Information and condolences please visit www.PrataGallogly.com
