Jose C. Furtado

FURTADO, Jose C., 78, of Mayfield Avenue, Cranston, passed away Saturday evening, August 10, 2019 at RI Hospital, Providence.

He was the beloved husband of Maria C. (Correia) Furtado, they had been married for nearly sixty years.  Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose and Maria (Correia) Furtado.  He resided in Cranston since 1963.

Jose was a welder for many years with Apachee Engineering Welding & Fabrication in North Kingstown before retiring in 2003.  He enjoyed working in his garden and fishing.

Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Joseph Furtado, Jr. and Michael C. Furtado both of Cranston; two brothers, John Furtado and William Furtado both of Cranston and two sisters, Maria Angel of Cranston and Maria Amaral of Providence.  He was the brother of the late Maria Carmo.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick.  Interment will be in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Coventry.
