LIMA, John T. “Timmy”, 91, formerly of Cleveland Street, West Warwick, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, January 25, 2018 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home, Bristol.

He was the beloved husband of the late Jeannine V. (Leger) Lima, at her passing, they were married for 42 years.  A lifelong resident of West Warwick, he was the son of the late John E. and Felicissima (Cabral) Lima.

Timmy was a 1944 graduate of West Warwick High School where he played football.  He entered the U.S. Army/Air Corps Cadet Reserve program and attended a number of aircraft and engine mechanical schools working on B-29’s.  A World War II Army/Air Corps Veteran he served with the 421st Bomb Squadron, 504th Bomb Group assigned to the Island of Tinian and stationed at Clark Field in the Philippines. 

Following the war he was employed at General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division at Quonset Point before retiring as Production Control Manager.  He was an avid golfer where he was a member at the West Warwick Country Club serving on various boards and committees and was an award winning decoy duck carver.

He is survived by his loving children, Valerie Teska and her husband Dan of Fort Collins, CO, Tom Lima and his wife Maria of Greene, RI, Jacqueline Lima of Burlington, VT, Stephanie Bissonette and her husband Joe of Hinesburg, VT and Victoria Kelly and her husband Timothy of Calabash, NC; a sister, Rita Cusick of East Greenwich and five adoring grandchildren, Sean, Christopher and Matthew Kelly, Jeannine and Emma Bissonette.  He was the brother of the late Daniel and Gervais Lima.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.  Interment will follow with military honors in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.   In lieu of flowers contributions to the RI Veterans Home Fund, 480 Metacom Avenue, Bristol, RI 02808 in his memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolence please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
