KENNEDY, James J., 81, of Lambert Lind Highway, Warwick, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.
He was the beloved husband of the late Helen M. (Senna) Kennedy. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Leona (Beauvais) Kennedy. He resided in Juniper, Florida for thirty years before returning to Rhode Island in 2016.
Mr. Kennedy was a self-employed professional carpet installer for many years. He was a 1955 graduate of Cranston High School where he was a proud member of the 1955 undefeated State Champion Football team and a member of the Thunderbolt’s hockey team. He enjoyed golfing but had a passion for horse racing.
He is survived by a son, Kevin J. Kennedy and his companion Gidget D’Amato of Warwick; two sisters, Marilyn Mazzeo of Grafton, MA and Eileen Pallante of Brookside, FL; two grandchildren, Kevin Novosad and Kristine Quansey both of Warwick; two great grandchildren, Jarah and Melody and many nieces and nephews who loved him. He was the brother of the late Edward F. Kennedy and Norman Kennedy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Interment will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
