Henry J. Petrarca

PETRARCA, Henry J., 86, of Lafayette Street, West Warwick, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at Kent Hospital, Warwick. 

A lifelong resident of West Warwick, he was a son of the late Domenic and Giovanina (Lancellotta) Petrarca.

Mr. Petrarca was a bartender at the former Shamrock Café in Warwick for many years before retiring.  He graduated from West Warwick High School where he played basketball and baseball, a proud Korean War Marine Corps Veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart Metal, a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a former member of the West Warwick Country Club.

He is survived by several nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews.  He was the brother of the late Marianna, Silvio, Alfred, Carla, Louis and Michael Petrarca.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 8:30-9:30 am in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence St., West Warwick.  Interment with military honors will be in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to the WWWAAA, P.O.
