Dorothy A. (Chase) Yamzon

YAMZON, Dorothy A. (Chase), 93, formerly of West Warwick, passed away Saturday morning, April 14, 2018 at the Coventry Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was the beloved wife of the late Purisimo L. Yamzon.  Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Marguerite (Barry) Chase. 

Mrs. Yamzon was an educator in the English Department at West Warwick High School for 12 years before retiring in 1984.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and her time spent in Florida.

She is survived by two sons, John F. Yamzon of Melbourne Beach, FL and Paul L. Yamzon of North Smithfield; a daughter, Diane J. Gardner and her husband Robert of Coventry; four granddaughters, Jennifer Jordan, Alicia Volz, Kristen Anstrom and Lindsey Gardner; ten great grandchildren, Katie, Caroline, Charlie, Chase, Riley, Dane, Reece, Lumen, Keeley and Ethan and three siblings, Roy and John Chase and Joan Barker.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 9:00 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Mary Church, 70 Church St., West Warwick.  Interment will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.  Visiting hours Wednesday 5:00-7:00 pm.  Information and condolences please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
