Dina J. (Antunes) Coelho

COELHO, Dina J., (Antunes), of North Kingstown, formerly of Bridgeport, CT, passed away Tuesday evening, June 12, 2018, at South County Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joao E. Coelho.  Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, she was the daughter of the late Abel C. and Emilia M. (Da Costa) Antunes.

Dina was raised in Santa Comba Dao, Portugal, came to the United States in 1964 and lived in Bridgeport, CT for thirty years.  When her husband retired they moved back to Lisbon, Portugal also spending part of the year in Rhode Island with her daughter and her family.  The past twelve years she has lived full time in Rhode Island. 

She was very involved in the community and her church where she was a former member of St. Anthony Church in West Warwick and was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Vasco da Gama Portuguese Club in Bridgeport.

She was a fabulous cook and seamstress and enjoyed gardening and travel.  Family, in particular her grandsons, were the most important things to her in the world.

She was the loving mother of Leza C. Williamson and her husband David of North Kingstown and cherished grandmother of twins, Tyler and Zachary.  She was the sister of the late Zelia Ribeiro and Celeste Martins.

Visitation and funeral will be held Saturday, June 16, from 8:30-10:15 am in the PRATA-GALLOGLY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence St., West Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Fourth Ave., East Greenwich.  Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  In lieu of flowers contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, RI Chapter, 245 Waterman St., # 306, Providence, RI 02906 in her memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolences please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
