FONTAINE, Charles A., 92, formerly of the West Warwick Manor, 62 Robert Street, West Warwick, passed away Tuesday morning, October 29, 2019 at Woodpecker Hill Health Center in Greene.
He was the beloved husband of the late Constance H. (Theroux) Moreau-Fontaine who passed away in 2015 and the late Blanche (Vallier) Fontaine who passed away in 1990. Born in Attleboro, MA, a son of the late Adelard and Florida (Riel) Fontaine. He resided in West Warwick for most of his life.
Mr. Fontaine was a coremaker at Grinnell Corporation for many years until retiring in 1989. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, he enjoyed collecting and refurbishing antiques, billiard and coin collecting. He was a former member of the West Warwick Manor Tenants Association.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews including, Linda Miller (Charles) of Derry, NH and Patricia Caley (Tim) of Weymouth, MA; four step-sons, Maurice Moreau (Charlotte) of West Warwick, Jerry Moreau (Margie) of Coventry, Alan Moreau (Debbie) of North Kingstown and James Moreau (Victor) of East Providence and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by ten siblings.
His funeral will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 8:00 am from the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Christ the King Church, 120 Legris Avenue, West Warwick. Interment with military honors will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, South Main Street, Attleboro, MA. Visiting hours Friday 5:00-7:00 pm.
