YOUNG, Jr., Byron E., “Sonny”, 76, formerly of West Warwick, passed away Monday evening, December 3, 2018 at Woodpecker Hill Health Center, Greene, RI.

Born in Scituate, he was the son of the late Byron E. Young, Sr. and Mary H. (Cibor) Young.

Sonny was a machinist at Rhode Island Bolt in West Warwick for fifteen years before retiring in 1993.  He was a Vietnam War Army Veteran and enjoyed fishing.

He was the companion of Paula Labrie of West Warwick; three sons, Byron E. Young, III, Bradley E. Young and Brian E. Young all of Warwick; two daughters, Diana L. Lumpkin of Warwick and Billie L. Nolan of West Warwick; five step-children, Tina Almeida of New Bedford, MA, Bonni Sousa of Johnston, Chris Lagasse of West Warwick, Wendy Nault of Johnston and Thomas Lagasse of West Warwick; a brother, William H. Young in Florida; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was the brother of the late Ethelyn Young and Irene Stockwell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Committal Prayers followed by military honors on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 10:30 am in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery Columbarium Chapel, 301 South County Trail, Exeter.  Please gather at 10:15 am at the Administration Building parking area as you enter the cemetery.  We will be escorted to the columbarium building at 10:25 am.
