Anthony Parente

PARENTE, Anthony, 90, of Warwick, passed away Saturday morning, November 30, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at the Respiratory & Rehabilitation Center of RI.

He was the beloved husband of Anna M. (DeSocio) Parente, they had been married for 62 years.  Born in the Natick section of Warwick, he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Luigia (Mancini) Parente.

Mr. Parente was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.  He was employed as a baker at Brown University for many years until retiring and also cooked at the former Nino’s on Lake Tiogue in Coventry for many years.  He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, enjoyed gardening, an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, a member of the East Natick Veterans Athletic Association and belonged to the bowling league at Mac’s Bowlaway.

Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Anthony Parente and his wife Lisa of Coventry and John Parente of Warwick; a daughter, Marianne Legault and her husband Richard of Warwick; four  siblings, Eva Senerchia of West Warwick, Lawrence Parente of East Walpole, MA, Pasquale Parente of Little Compton, and Samuel Parente of Cranston and two grandchildren, Bryan and Jaimie Legault.  He was the brother of the late Genevieve DiCarlo, Amelia Santilli, Lisa Gould, Viola Felici, Lena Ogrodnik, John Parente, Alfred Parente Joseph Parente and Domenic Parente.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 10:00 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick.  Interment with military honors in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick.  Visiting hours Tuesday 4:00-7:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, RI Chapter, 245 Waterman St., Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906 in his memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolences please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
