TERRANOVA, Luigi “Gino”, of Earl Street, West Warwick, passed away Saturday evening, March 31, 2018 at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Providence.
He was the beloved husband of Joanne M. (Pimental) Terranova, they had been married for twenty-two years. Born in Salemi, Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Vito and Angela (DiGregorio) Terranova. He came from Sicily to America in 1966.
Gino was employed as a tool setter in the jewelry industry for many years before retiring as a foreman and also was a bartender for many years at the St. Mary’s Society Hall in Cranston. He was a Vietnam War era Navy Veteran, a member of the St. Mary’s Feast Society and Santa Maria di Prata Society.
Besides his wife he leaves two step-children, AnnMarie Sweet of North Stonington, CT and Joseph F. Hasney in Pennsylvania; a sister, Franca Alfieri and her husband Tony of Lincoln; a brother, Nicolo` Terranova of Cranston; four grandchildren, Kayla and J.T. Hasney and Riley and Ethan Sweet; a sister-in-law, Mary Lawrence; five nieces and nephews, Christina Alfieri, MD, Francesco Alfieri, Carmela Payne, Michelle and Joseph Terranova and seven great nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 at 8:45 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick. Interment with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Thursday 4:00-7:00 pm.
