BURDICK, John J., 89, of Smithfield, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 12, 2018.
He was the beloved husband of the late Roberta M. (Luongo) Burdick.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Fedoryn) Burdick. He resided in Providence until moving to Smithfield in 2014.
Mr. Burdick was a professional mover, truck driver and proud member of Teamsters Local 251 Union for 37 years before retiring in 1990. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, and was active with the Nelson-Mack VFW Senior Softball League and enjoyed swimming at his local YMCA's. He bowled on St. Matthew Church Bowling League for 35 years and 15 years on Town Hall Lanes Bowling League.
He is survived by a son, John J. Burdick, Jr. of Smithfield; two daughters, Lori A. Keegan of Maine and Carole M. Burdick of Smithfield; a sister, Anela Poudrier of Providence; four grandchildren, Courtney Stiasny, Leeanna O'Neill, Ryan Keegan and Matthew Keegan; two great grandchildren, Rylee Keegan and Tristan Stiasny and a niece, Patricia Poudrier.
