PIMENTAL, August R. “Gus”, 93, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday morning, February 1, 2018 at Riverview Healthcare Community, Coventry.
He was the beloved husband of Loretta L. (Pare) Pimental, they had been married for 66 years. A lifelong resident of West Warwick, he was the son of the late Manuel L. and Maria (Mello) Pimental.
Mr. Pimental, was a maintenance supervisor at Hope Valley Dye for many years. He was lifelong communicant of St. Anthony Church, where he was a member of the parish Knight of Columbus #181, a member of the Portuguese American Sports Club, Holy Ghost Society, an avid fisherman and loved woodworking and gardening.
Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Carol Dessert (Dennis) of Coventry and Linda Lauzon (Jack) of West Warwick; two sons, David Pimental, WWFD (Ret.) (Maria) of West Warwick and Wayne Pimental (Lisa) of Warwick; two brothers, Antonio Pimental and Thomas Pimental both of West Warwick; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Cecelia Rita, Mary Bedard, Christine Pacheco, Victoria Boisclair, Irene Palazzo, Manuel, Michael, John and Joseph Pimental.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018 at 9:45 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence St., West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick. Interment will be private.
